Why Try Insomnia Coaching?
Discover why this program is different from other insomnia solutions and how it can work for you
Evidence Based
The Cognitive-Behavioral approach is considered the gold standard treatment for insomnia according to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. And that’s exactly what you’ll get in this program.
No sleeping pills
Sleeping pills and supplements create dependency and are not a long term solution to insomnia. With this approach, they’re not necessary.
Long term strategy
You’ll learn to improve your relationship with sleep. You’ll gain the mental and behavioral tools you need to sleep well for the rest of your life.
Personalized approach
We’ll combine proven CBT-I techniques with mindfulness for a well-rounded, drug-free solution to sleep issues. Typically, the program is 6-8 weeks, but we will discuss and custom tailor it for you.
How the program works:
1. Schedule weekly sessions
On our first call, we’ll schedule our upcoming weekly sessions (30 mins). Generally, it takes 6-8 weeks to truly reset your sleep for long lasting effects. This program is flexible and we will personalize it to suit your needs.
2. Assessment and Program Plan
We’ll be taking a cognitive-behavioral approach, offering gold standard practices throughout your time with me. Together, we’ll craft a plan that optimizes your sleep patterns, leading to noticeable improvements in your sleep.
3. Nudge App
In this FREE, user friendly app, we will help you stay on track with weekly progress updates, personalized sleep tips, and ongoing support between sessions.

Asked
Questions
What do we cover on our first call?
On our intro call, I’ll introduce myself and we’ll discuss how to fix your struggle with sleep.
All of the following topics may not apply to you, but we will find the ones that do, and we’ll customize your plan accordingly.
On our first call, we’ll cover:
- When your insomnia started, and why (root causes)
- Discussing your struggle with sleep
- Your sleep environment, habits, etc. (sleep hygiene)
- Your personal sleep schedule and how it relates with your daily life
- Introducing healthier habits that promote great sleep in the long term
- Setting up your schedule and customizing your program
- Getting ready for week 1.
What are the weekly sessions like?
After our first intro call, we’ll meet once a week (audio or video, up to you) for about 30 minutes.
In the first weekly session, we’ll discover your sleep baseline. I’ll teach you how to do this on our intro call, and this will inform how your next few weeks will go.
So, first we identify what is going wrong and the rest of the program will focus on how to fix those problems. This will be the customized and strategic phase of your program.
In each weekly visit, we’ll cover the progress you’re making, and address any concerns you may have.
In between our weekly sessions, I will have personalized information and guidance set up for you in the Nudge app. We can also chat in the app and make sure things are moving along smoothly for you in between visits.
How will it be personalized for me?
While this coaching program is grounded in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i), it will be custom tailored for you individually. Here’s how:
- Insomnia comes in many different forms which you can read about here… but therapy and coaching requires a personal touch to be done right.
- In the Nudge app, which I’ll send to you after our first call, we will create a customized plan and and personalize it for you.
- We can schedule reminders (daily or every other day) if you want
- We can check in and chat if you like, in between weekly visits
- We have the option to integrate your wearables (smart watches)
- Mini-lessons – topics that apply to you personally, which could be more meditation based if you’re interested. (I am a certified mindfulness teacher)
- If your sleep is back on track earlier than expected, you won’t be held to the full 6 or 8 weeks. Very flexible!
How much does this cost?
The one on one coaching program is $100 per week. We’ll make sure you’re comfortable before committing and I won’t push you or ‘hard sell’ anything 🙂
Can I take a course instead?
- I did publish a very well-received 10 lesson course called “The Mindful Approach to Insomnia”. It is published on Insight Timer and also on my app Mind Awake.
If you would rather not do 1:1 coaching, and you’d prefer to just take a user friendly guided audio course on Insomnia instead, then that’s what I recommend for you!
Here’s a little bit about the course:
- 10 lessons, 10-20 minutes each
- We cover all the important topics you need to know to fix your sleep
- You set the pace, take as long as you like to get through the course
- You’ll learn the clinically recommended methods for resolving insomnia
- Price is $7.99 to get access in the Mind Awake app.
- Over 5000 students have taken this course and average 4.97 / 5 star rating, and truly wonderful reviews.
